Once settled, our expert staff will assist you in fine-tuning your rental bike or help you set up your personal bike for optimal performance. Then, we’ll kick-start the adventure with an invigorating loop ride on the famous Amstel Gold Race course. Leaving directly from the hotel, we’ll delve into the picturesque Limburg countryside, following the same roads and challenging climbs that have tested the best cyclists in the world. Along the way, we’ll stop for a coffee, before returning to the hotel for some well-deserved rest in preparation for tomorrow’s big event.
Saturday: Ride the Tour Version of the Amstel Gold Race
Today, you’ll take on the renowned Amstel Gold Race Sportive. This amateur version of the pro race offers a choice of six distances, ranging from a 60 km introductory ride to the full 240 km challenge. No matter which option you choose, you’ll experience the thrill of riding the same roads as the pros, tackling famous climbs such as the Cauberg, Geulhemmerberg, and Bemelerberg. With 33 climbs on the full course and over 3,700 meters of total elevation, this is a test of both endurance and skill, set against the stunning backdrop of Limburg’s rolling hills and quaint villages.
As you ride, you’ll be immersed in the festive atmosphere, with thousands of cyclists from around the world joining the event. The excitement and camaraderie are palpable, making this ride not only a physical challenge but also a celebration of cycling passion. The sportive starts and finishes in the cycling hub of Valkenburg, just 12 kilometers from Maastricht. You’ll be transported in VIP minivans, allowing you to witness the race at multiple key points along the course. With the help of special shortcuts, you’ll catch the action on some of the most challenging and iconic sections, including the famous Cauberg climb.
